After captivating audiences in Netflix’s hit series “The Polygamist”, actress and model Luyanda Zwane has traded filming for turquoise waters, embracing a well-deserved tropical escape in the Maldives.
Zwane, who plays Lindani in the internationally acclaimed Netflix series, has been documenting her island getaway on TikTok and Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into her off-the-grid beach holiday.
From sunset cruises and dolphin-spotting excursions to snorkelling in crystal-clear waters and soaking up lazy beach days, the actress has been making the most of her solo adventure.
“Do it alone,” she wrote, encouraging others to embrace travelling solo.
Reflecting on the opportunity to enjoy such an experience, Zwane added: “I’m grateful to be alive.”
Beyond the breathtaking scenery, the trip also delivered an emotional reminder of the power of African connection.
In a heartfelt Instagram Story, Zwane recalled meeting a Kenyan chef who has spent years working in the Maldives. The encounter left a lasting impression on the actress.

“I’m so emotional. I met a black lady here who works as a chef, and she’s from Kenya. She’s been away from home for so many years and months. When she saw a black girl, she literally jumped and hugged me. It felt like home so much.
“I just realised how much we are so alike and how we are one as Africans. The community and love is so, so good,” she shared.
Before jetting off to the Maldives, Zwane also ticked another bucket-list experience off her travel list with a safari getaway to Hoedspruit in Limpopo, widely regarded as the safari capital of the Greater Kruger region near the iconic Kruger National Park.
The experience marked her very first game drive, and seeing Africa’s wildlife up close left her in awe.
“It was my first time on a safari drive. It was my first time seeing lions with my own eyes. It was my first time seeing rhinos, elephants and giraffes,” she said.
