Fourteen illegal miners have died and scores of others were injured at a disused mine in Nkaneng, near Rustenburg, North West police have confirmed
The incident was confirmed by the police in the province on Tuesday morning.
According to police, “14 illegal miners dead at disused mine – scores injured at Nkaneng near Rustenburg.”
The police said newly appointed provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Arthur Peter Adams, was on his way to the scene.
