A 19-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of Limpopo businessman Tebogo Mothapo, who was shot and killed in Mankweng in December last year.
The woman was apprehended on Sunday during an operation led by a multidisciplinary police team, bringing the number of arrests in the case to two.
Mothapo, 43, was attacked and shot dead in Mankweng on December 16, 2025.
A police spokesperson said the woman was tracked down and arrested in Mankweng Zone One following intensive investigations by the Provincial Investigation Unit, Provincial Tracking Team, Capricorn Tracing Team and private security partner Tshimollo Security and Investigations.
The first suspect, 27-year-old Osama Azad, a naturalised South African of Pakistani origin, was arrested on July 20 at Ga Mothapo Tjatjaneng, the spokesperson said.
Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Jan Scheepers welcomed the latest breakthrough and commended the investigating teams for their persistence in investigating Mothapo’s murder.
The 19-year-old is expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Police investigations are continuing.
