Police in the Western Cape have offered a cash reward for the safe return of missing eight-year-old Anovuyo Oncke.
Anovuyo, from the Riemvasmaak informal settlement in Phumlani Village, was last seen on the morning of September 6, 2025, after leaving the house at about 7am.
The Grade 1 Perivale Primary School learner was last seen wearing black pants and a pink pajama top.
The provincial police spokesperson, Thembakazi Mpendukana, said the Wynberg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is offering the cash reward.
“A cash reward of up to R50,000 is being offered to any person who can assist with information that can lead to the safe return of eight-year-old Anovuyo Oncke, who went missing after she went to play with friends in Riemvasmaak, Phumlani Village, and never returned,” Mpendukana said.
Police said they were following up on all leads available to reunite Anovuyo with her family.

Previously, residents of Riemvasmaak informal settlement criticised the police handling of the investigation into the young girl’s disappearance.
“If it was another child, all resources would have been deployed, but we are just poor,” they told IOL.
Residents said they have a new suspect in mind in relation to the disappearance of Anovuyo, following a rape incident in the area on Saturday, July 4.
