Fresh allegations force Andrea Johnson back to Madlanga Commission

Former Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Andrea Johnson is set to face the Madlanga Commission again after fresh allegations surfaced during witness testimony.

A Rule 3 notice will likely be issued, allowing Johnson to respond to claims raised by Drushanta Ramsamy.

Commission chair, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, said the commission had received a statement that seriously implicates Johnson in matters not previously canvassed during her evidence.

The allegations were never put to her before she wrapped up six days of testimony on Wednesday.

Her recall gives her an opportunity to answer the new claims as the commission continues examining the evidence before it carefully.
