A burst tyre briefly halted travel plans for passengers travelling via Airlink flight 4Z 951 from Johannesburg to Cape Town on Sunday afternoon.
Airlink released a statement confirming that the Embraer E190, carrying 75 passengers and crew, experienced the tyre burst during its take-off roll.
Airlink said in line with standard procedures, the pilots aborted the take-off and stopped the aircraft on the runway.
Passengers were then boarded onto buses and ferried to a replacement aircraft to continue their travels.
Airlink said engineers were called in to inspect the Embraer E190 that suffered the tyre burst, and it was quickly and safely removed from the runway.
