A school community is grieving the sudden loss of a young life after Kabega Primary learner Jaylan Scheuble-Thysse passed away, leaving behind devastated loved ones and friends who will remember him for the warmth and kindness he brought to those around him.
The cause of Jaylan’s death has not been disclosed.
The passing of the 11-year-old has left his parents, family, teachers, friends and fellow learners facing an incredibly difficult time as they come to terms with the loss of a young life that had touched so many people.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our beloved learners, Jaylan Scheuble-Thysse,” the school said.
For those who knew Jaylan, his memory lives on through the friendships he formed and the lives he touched during his time at the institution.
The school described Jaylan as a child whose presence made an impact on those around him, saying he “will be remembered for the kind, respectful and wonderful young boy that he was”.
His mother, Janine Scheuble-Thysse, thanked those who have reached out to the family as they navigate the devastating loss.
Family and friends shattered
“Thank you for all the prayers and beautiful messages, it is appreciated,” she said.
Among those grieving is Luzaan Landman, who remembered Jaylan for the friendship he shared with her son.
“RIP Jaylan, our condolences to your family and prayers for strength during this difficult time. Thanks for the awesome friend you were for my boy, he misses you dearly,” Landman said.
The school has also extended its thoughts and prayers to Jaylan’s loved ones, teachers and friends during what it described as an incredibly difficult time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, family, teachers and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May God surround you with His comfort, peace and strength,” the school said.
For the primary family, Jaylan’s absence will be deeply felt in the school corridors and among those who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Jaylan will always be remembered and forever held in our hearts,” the school said.
