Singer Miguel says he and his partner have been targets of ‘racist, anti-Asian attacks’ and abusive comments about their child

R&B singer Miguel has spoken out about the racism, harassment and threats he says he and his family have faced over the past year.

In a statement shared on social media, Miguel said his partner, Margaret Zhang, has been subjected to racist and anti-Asian attacks, while abusive comments have also been directed at their child.

“Racism, threats, harassment, stalking, invasions of privacy, and targeting of children are abuse, not opinion,” he wrote.

Miguel said he accepts criticism that comes with being a public figure but insisted that targeting his family crosses the line. He added that legal action has been and will continue to be taken where necessary.

Miguel and Zhang welcomed their son, Angel, in 2024 and are currently expecting their second child.
