The body of an Indian man, presumed murdered, was found dumped in a stormwater drain on Higginson Highway, near the Arena Park off-ramp in Chatsworth.
“The man was found without trousers; his trousers were used to tie his legs,” said Claude Subramodey, spokesperson for Amawele Emergency Services.
“Paramedics received a call after a passer-by noticed the body in the drain at around 4pm yesterday.”
He said the drain was about two metres below road level, and the body had been shoved in with only the head and upper body visible.
“Upon assessment, the man showed no signs of life. He was found to be in an advanced state of decomposition. At this stage, it is believed that the man was killed and his body was dumped in the stormwater drain,” Subramodey added.
He said Chatsworth SAPS and Search and Rescue members were called to retrieve the body
